Denker League mens open semifinals bring good football
Bankal/Abuno started very strong versus high favourite VUDU FC. It was Mark Niel Alegre with a fine shot who brought the surprising lead for the Bankal/Abuno team. VUDU needed until 28. Minute when Christian Delan could beat the good keeper Ramel to go with a draw into halftime. In the 2. Half were chances for both teams but VUDU used all his experience to get 2 more goals Arranguez (52.minute) and Romero (61.minute) and won the match with 3-1. The excellent game was then topped with 90 exciting minutes from the teams of Pajo and Look. Both goalkeepers showed good reflexes and saved a goalless draw until halftime. The excellent referees had the match always under control and a red card for Benj Tampus from Pajo pacified the little overheated players. The dominant team from Look was trying to make the first goal but it was Pajo who took the lead after 70 minutes when Lopito Tumulak surprised the Look keeper with a exact free kick from 30 meters distance. The result was now a permanent attacking Look team but it needed until to the 83.minute when Mil Lim headed a ball unreachable for the good Pajo keeper Amodia to get the equalizer and a draw after 90 minutes with a penalty shoot out.
The player had a hard time to convert their shots. After 7 shots still draw it was Nessan Tuble who made the winner goal and lifted the Look team into the final versus VUDU, this coming Sunday, April 18 4pm at Lap-Lapu Airbase, Mabes field.
Saturday was the day of the under 14 teams. Leader Look lost his game with Abuno while Central team won the 2 matches versus Olango and Alegria. Central is therefore the leader of the table and the winner of the price for the best Lapu-Lapu team. The semi-finals will be played also at Airbase, mabes field 10 and 11 am. The 1.placed Central team will face 4. Placed Lo-ok team while Abellana (Pommeroy) will play Bankal/Abuno team to decide who will play the final afternoon before the mens open final.
