First they have to qualify for the finals, and they have not done that in 2005 and 2006.

The 1980/81 National champion was CDCP of Manila. The team was coached by former National coach Pontit Broce of San Carlos City.

The games were played in Cebu at the natural ampitheater field known as the Bohemian football Field in Talamban. The field does not exist any more but was at the time one of the best in the Phlippines.

Cebu had a very young 15 year old Mario Ceniza in the team.
